Description
Ferrocarriles a Vapor en el Sur de Chile.
Steam Railways in Southern Chile.
Author: Hernán Venegas Ramírez – Pablo Moraga Feliú
The last steam railway that rolled in Chile did it between the cities of Concepción and Puerto Montt. They attended several branches of the central line such as Valdivia, Antilhue, and the stations on Lago Ranco.
These remarkable color photographs were taken by Enrique Rivera, a ferro-amateur and active participant in the rail heritage conservation associations in the period of 1970 and 1985. They are a unique document covering the last years of the passenger railway with traction to steam.
